About
The Dwarf House
Founded by Truett Cathy in 1946, The Dwarf House® (originally named the Dwarf Grill) is the birthplace of the Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich. It was in this restaurant that Cathy first invented his boneless chicken sandwich and asked his customers to taste test it for him until he perfected the recipe in 1964. More than 70 years later, The Dwarf House® continues to give customers a glimpse into the beginnings of the Chick-fil-A® franchise.

Our History
Pies Made with Love
The Dwarf House® has been serving handmade pies since the first day. Today, our pie shop is named after Zelma (Murphy) Calhoun, who served as the lead pie maker for more than 40 years. Zelma perfected her recipes for lemon, coconut, chocolate and fried apple and peach pies. Near the end of her career, Zelma was making more than 100 pies a day. We honor Zelma’s work ethic, constant joy, and faithful years to Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A® restaurants and our guests. Her history with Chick-fil-A is not just as a Team Member, but as family.
